Ballet Grand Folklorico de Mexico Monday October 17, 2005
Direct from Mexico City, this worldwide traveling company of 35 singers,
dancers, ropers, and musicians bring a colorful, rhythmic, pulsating show
that is presented in a swirl or authentic costumes. Mariachi, marimba and
jarocho bands provide exciting musical settings for this panorama of Mexican
dance and song.

Thuringer Salonquintett

This musical ensemble from Germany is committed to the wonderful European tradition of light
and entertaining music and has a repertoire that ranges from the
vestiges of 18th century European music to the chic 20th century sounds of legendary American
composers. Comprised of two violins, cello, double bass and piano, this quintet is a
direct descendant of the "Kaffeehaus" (coffee-house) movement of the late 1800's. Enjoy
the light-hearted and inviting atmosphere they create as they integrate elements from
different cultures.

The Coats

Started as a Seattle street corner quartet in order to pay tuition bills and wearing
trench coats to stay warm (hence the name), this vocal group has become one of the
most requested ensembles in the a cappella vocal world. The Coats have won
many vocal competitions and have shared the stage with such entertainers as the
Beach Boys, Jay Leno, and Olivia Newton John. With their high energy, improvisational
comedy, and phenomenal vocal range, the will be long remembered.

Londontowne Symphony Orchestra

This 40 piece symphony orchestra from our area seeks to recognize both local and international
talent and is rapidly gaining regional attention and attracting nationally recognized
conductors. Their musical selections will include a variety of pops and classical tunes.

American Big Band

Take the A-train back to the days of Lindy Hopping, Zoot suits and Stompin' at the
Savoy in Matt Davenport Productions hit show, American Big Band. Utilizing many of the
original arrangements of the famous swing era orchestras, the American Big Band
orchestra employs the breathtaking talents of 11 jazz musicians, most of whom comprise
the full size horn section. Paired with 8 incredible singers and dancers, as well as
unforgettable hit songs from the end of the Depression era through World War II, this
show spotlights how the "sound of hope" changed an entire generation and altered the course of
American music forever.
